Policies and Procedures
- Senior Center Membership
All choir members are required to become members of the Senior Center. There
is no fee to join the Center, just fill out a form and have your picture taken for an ID cardt. You must be at least 55 years old.
- Rehearsals
Rehearsals are from 2:30 PM to 4:30PM on Thursday afternoons.
- Attendance Requirements
A choir is a dynamic group, and requires a certain amount of commitment in
order to get concert ready. To this end: If more than 3 rehearsals are missed, it
is at the director's discretion whether an individual will participate in the next
concert.
- Fee
There is a $25.00 fee/semester for participation. Semesters follow the typical school semester. .
- Music
The music is yours to keep. Do not throw any away, as we may use it in a future performance.
- Rehearsal Rules
1) Members are responsible to sign in each week. If you know you're going to be out, please let us know in advance by marking the rosters appropriately.
2) Please be respectful, and limit talking during rehearsals. Music
related inquiries should be made to the director.
3) Bring a pencil, mark your music. If you miss a week, please try to
get any pertinent markings from a fellow section member.
4) Please turn off your cell phones or set them to "vibrate."
5) Please practice conscientious hygiene. No heavy fragrances as
many people are sensitive, and we are in close proximity.
- Voice Placement
By now, most of us know what voice part we sing. If you are unsure, please talk
with the director. He will check your vocal range and help you decide where you'd do best.
- Emails to the entire Chorale
The Administrative Department should attempt to transmit any emails no later than 48 hours after receipt. Sooner is better. The content of the Email shall be the responsibility of the person requesting distribution. The sender should make efforts to insure that the message is accurate and contains all of the necessary information. The message will have the requesters name, Email and phone number so that there is a better chance of the questions or complaints going to the requester. All Managers and Team Leaders, that initiate emails to be sent out, should recognize that the preferred font is Arial 14pt. Also, if there is a need for an attachment it is preferred that it be in either pdf or doc format so that the majority of the Chorale can open the attachment.
- Registration information and Roster distribution
Information from the registration forms will be sent out by the Members Support Department to all Managers and Team Leaders ASAP after receipt. The goal is to have it out no later than one week after the first rehearsal of the semester.
The Administration Department will send out the roster which contains all of the membership, to the entire Chorale membership. The goal is to have it out by the fourth meeting of the semester.
Updates/corrections shall be shared between the two Departments and distribution shall be done by each in a time frame to satisfy their requirements.
- Announcements at rehearsals
Our 110 members are involved in vast numbers of organizations and activities. It is not an efficient use of our rehearsal time to make announcements of upcoming events that are not Chorale related. However, we would like to support these events by making the information available. Therefore, the person that would like to pass information on to our membership is invited to write up a sheet and place it on the Information Table in the back of the rehearsal room.
The Chorale Manager will make all Chorale related announcements. They should be given to him by either Email in advance or written and hand delivered before rehearsal. Again, please take care to be sure that all pertinent data is included.
