The Bonsai Club of the Bowie Senior Center was organized in 2010 by Dr. Akey Hung. Dr. Hung continues to be its mentor. The club meets the first Friday of every month, except December, January and February, at 9:00am at the Senior Center. Membership is open to all Senior Center members and no previous experince with bonsai is necessary. The club focuses on teaching bonsai horticulture, training techniques, as well as the artistic aspects of bonsai. Meetings consist of demonstrations, discussions, and "hands-on" work on members bonsai. New members are always welcome.
